Users who experience problems with PDF files opening
in a web
browser may choose to make the following adjustments to the
Adobe Acrobat program:
To prevent PDF's from opening in a web browser:
-
Start the Adobe Acrobat application. 
-
Select "Edit" from the menu bar.
-
Choose "Preferences" and then select "General".
-
Choose Options (located on the left of the dialog box).
-
Under the heading "Web Browser Options",
uncheck "Display PDF in Browser".
This will prevent Adobe Acrobat from loading PDF documents
into the web browser interface. There have been documented
problems with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
